This definitely helps with calf muscles and plantar fascia. Another can be to mobilize the plantar fascia first, then try walking or at least bearing weight more on the outside of the foot (like walking with your ankle tilted inwards, but not too much) and curling at least your big toe. This will promote activity of the plantar fascia and the transverse curve, which can also help with flat-footedness.
Also don't forget to check for balance of all other parts of your body to negate the compensations done by other parts which may also be causing the plantar fasciitis.
Nice exercise. Its really simple and anybody can do this, I have been facing ankle pain since 15 days.I am taking medication but its for temporary relief. I hope this exercise would help me out. Foot exercises
