I have been told I need a PF release and its not only my left got but my right too. I have just in the 5 months started my job as a bank teller. The dr said it would be a good idea to find a new job. But unfortunately I do not have anywhere else to work. So my question is will it be better to get both feet done and get it over with or risk losing my job by doing 2 separate surgeries?
Thanks Amanda

Welcome Monique. Glad you came in to provide important information on cortisone. Marilyn is in a difficult situation and of course I hope she comes up with the right next step to improve things. For sure there are worse things in life that could happen to us but FS seems a particularly hard one to make choices on what to do without taking some scarey risks on future damage. At one stage before acupunture I was so fed up with the pain I did the following. Loaded up my favourite Vivaldi on high volume (in case I had to yell) and then proceeded to massage my heel on a curved part of furniture pressing quite hard after awhile and yes I was very close to yelling. It gave me short term relief for the rest of that day and the next couple of days the pain was just dull but after that it returned so I don't recommend it as a solution. Just making the point how we can be driven to trying anything if intense sharp pain persists and hence perhaps going for quick fixes. I'm comfortable with good acupunture over a longer term but I have the advantage of being able to continue excercising by bike riding and for the time being forgoing lots of bush walking as I used to do. Also, unlike Marilyn I do not have a job where I have to be on my feet for long periods. This will be difficult for her as now I'm a strong believer in treatment must accompany a maximisation of rest for our /foot/feet. My pain is under control so I never use ice just gentle massage of my foot/ankle and lower leg each day especially the ligament area of the arch where the inflamation occurs due to damage. Hope you keep improving.
