Shockwave doesn't kill the nerve. Under no conditions that aren't extreme would I even consider such a treatment. Nerves are important! Now it may be possible that she's talking about botox, I know of a few doctors who treat migraines with it, but I haven't had it used for PF. It's that she's talking about a cold laser therapy. laser therapy can be very effective, but it doesn't kill the nerve at all. It does accelerate healing, and the worse you are, the better it works. If your aunt has PF, please go to my website. www.kaywarren.org. I'm a medical massage therapist and I've treated quite literally thousands of people with this condition. I have a free self help guide, Healing Plantar Fasciitis Without Surgery. It's 15 pages, and 6.6 Mb, so it's a big file, but it's FREE, and I promise, I'll never spam you ro share your info with anyone. I've got a long winded explanation of PF and how it works on the site. It's far too big to post here.....
Yes I've had this done it does work I've had 2 treatments and it gives me 9 months of no pain then u go again it is good
I have not heard of this but I had a treatment injection that was supposed to kill the nerve in my foot. Instead I got serious staff infection and had to have emergency surgery to save my foot. I had ESWT. It did not work for me at all. I have not had PF release surgery. My dim witted Veteran's Administration doctor said I had neuropathy due to some sort of Charcot's disease, but my arch is not that high as in Pes Caves. I was exposed to agent orange which has caused me to get DMII and PN. It is really frustrating when you have debilitating foot pain and cannot get any treatment that helps.

My podiatrist has recommeded this procedure. The device is called a podiatherm RF generator. My understanding of the procedure it involves isolating the nerve branch associated with the pain injecting medication into that one nerve branch. It takes 3 to 4 weeks to determine if the procedure is successful. I was told the procedure has a 92% success rate. I'm trying to find out if anyone has had this procedure and if so what are the drawbacks.
